They wait for someone else to do the work for them. But they aren’t interested in upsetting their corporate masters to effectuate the structural changes needed to make the government work for the people. More than anything Trump did, Trumpism is the result of the liberal party failing for 40 years.

Dem politicians have never developed a real plan to defeat Trumpism. The first term they relied on the few remaining normal republicans to stop him. And they squeaked out a victory in 2020 mostly due to covid. Now we see with clarity, they have no plan.

He is so clueless. And has been since the beginning of Trump. People were/are pissed at establishment politicians. Pretending we can get back to some sort of status quo is foolhardy and is going to lead us right into an authoritarian state.

Consistent does not equal good. If the message doesn’t breakthrough what does it matter that it’s consistent.

Are those problems not related? Is dem messaging not at least partly responsible for republicans being viewed as fiscally responsible in spite of 40 years of evidence to the contrary?

Dem leadership has lost the faith of dem voters. This isn’t new. Started in 2016. The 2024 election disaster brought many to the brink. And now the feckless response to Trump has crossed a line. Most of my dem friends are talking about not voting or voting 3rd party. Dem leaders are clueless.
