This linguistic drift that drives me nuts. Like, here’s some of the coverage of “Oppenheimer” winning 7/13—that is, slightly over half—of the Oscars for which it was nominated. That’s very good, historically speaking, but objectively not a sweep! “Sweep” doesn’t just mean “win a lot”!
