Oh and make sure to open up whatever the blue line is connected to above (faucet or fridge?) before unscrewing the filters to relieve pressure in the system. Otherwise you’ll get wetter than you need to!

But you’d need to fix the red valve as a longer term project. I suggest goggling the name of the filter. The instruction manual should have a plumbing diagram (and filter change instructions). Home ownership is a privilege but sometimes it sucks!

I have a similar system I think and the red valve looks like it should shut off water for the yellow line (input). If it’s leaking it could be that the valve or gasket inside needs to be replaced. Other people’s suggestion to turn off the whole house valve should work to replace the filter

Keep up the hard work! There’s a lot of evidence that early hard work and overall exercise can improve neuroplasticity. When you get closer to heading home, make sure to use the APTA website to find a neuro specialist PT (NCS) to work with. I imagine there’s a ton of good ones near you.
