This was always the final stage of a two party system. Unless we start to demand some kind of reform, this kind of attitude will continue indefinitely

Some people watched Black Mirror and thought it was a series of heartwarming tales

If they didn’t on Jan 6, 2021, they never will- literally for any reason

There should absolutely be term limits for Supreme Court justices and congresspeople, particularly because the SC was always supposed to be objective and impartial, but that is impossible now

If Musk and Bezos went to Mars, they would both be facing a pretty painful death there from prolonged exposure to radiation (assuming they even survived the trip). Mars is a pipe dream

I guess it isn’t enough that we are footing the bill for the energy costs of their stupid add data centers

I don’t think kids will understand this until they get older and stop trying to reach destinations as quickly as possible, but what reason do we have to live if the robots do all of the things that make life worth living?

The day I stop creating and only consume is the day I have no more purpose

Posting the magnum opus online = collective shrug

Posting the little guy = “This is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen!”

I know this from experience

Yeah. I’m pretty sure it’s widely known that the POTUS gets all of his intel from Fox and Friends, so it’s not exactly surprising anymore.

People will start to matter when those who lose their jobs aren’t buying stuff and stimulating the economy. Who are those robots going to ship stuff to when consumers aren’t consuming?

I wonder what discovery will look like? “Here’s a press conference where the prez says it’s true. That’s all we have your honor”

I don’t think there is a line anymore. I think there is this great unspoken (or spoken?) agreement that if they don’t tow the line, their careers are over. You can also fix anything with propaganda. If he became a vegetable, they would use video clips and AI to keep him functional as president.

Step 1: robots make stuff to send to consumers
Step 2: people lose jobs to robots and don’t have money to buy stuff
Step 3: robots stop making stuff that nobody is buying

I won’t judge people for being mad about it. It is OUR house, as in it belongs to Americans. The president is supposed to be a public servant and only a temporary occupant of the White House, so they shouldn’t be able to modify it to personal taste.

I’ve been to a couple of these protests in SLC, and I’m not sure what they are like in other big cities, but my impression is that they need WAY more loud music (preferably punk rock)
