Meoooowrrrllll- spit!

Genocide supporters blocked on sight.
Good for China- they know that soon enough there's going to be another PM.

Mind you, another neo-lib makes little difference...

She did the same with Corbyn. The Guardian is not on our side.

Most categories of government advisors are unelected. This is normal.

Yes. But the people he would place in charge are not.

I must about my day now. Nice talking to you.

Poland rejected Kalecki, but if their market economy goes the same way as ours, ultimately they will be in the same boat. There are no panaceas.

It would very much depend on how it was done.

Keynes began publishing his pamphlets in 1928. The Conservative governments of the 30s continued to try to balance the books- misery for millions. It took a war to sweep away what is happening right now. Politicians of limited imagination are part of the problem

I cannot find it to hand though I attach one of interest. He also cited Gary’s Economics which Rory Stewart sneered at, saying Gary had no qualifications. He has a Masters in Economics from Oxford. If I find the right video I will post it.

Ah, well he was asked about that the other day and cited both Murphy and Blakeley as those he was influenced by. I shall try to find the video. It seems to me that some adjustment of tax bands and pump priming might be very efficacious.

I don’t need to.

You, on the other hand, appear to think that it means drawing attention to putative racism.

Which is rather odd.

His economics reflect the theories of Professor Richard Murphy, Grace Blakeley and MMT, who in turn are based on Keynes. Reform and the Right have had, in Gove’s phrase, enough of experts. Upon what basis do you think a return to Keynsianism would end in disaster?
December 10, 2025 at 8:14 AM
Surely no one person has such at their fingertips for this implies expertise and omnipotence beyond most humans. An effective PM seeks power, but must deploy the available resources to bring the desired change: economists, experts etc. Seems to me you seek the dominant figure you wish to avoid.

So how would someone with the right general ideas gain power through being popular, without being a populist?
December 10, 2025 at 7:54 AM
Quick! Throw some petrol on the fire! That’ll put it out!
December 10, 2025 at 7:49 AM
Is a populist anyone who is popular?
December 10, 2025 at 7:47 AM
You are implying that he never said it?

Or perhaps you find the accusation distasteful?
