When I’ve done cables, I usually set it all up first so I can see where things need to go above/below from a routing standpoint, too. Basically two passes: get everything hooked up, then a pass to tidy and organize.

Everyone else has better hardware advice, but with a case like that I wouldn’t skimp on cable management time. This seems like it might go without saying, but CableMod would be a great place to order specific cable sizes and keep things tidy. (Or copious amounts of zip ties)

But, in other tables, also no. Some tables are just social, we’re playing commander because we’re not at the bar, in those cases, what’s a few missed triggers between friends? I think you can know pretty quickly which kind of table you’re at.

As someone who sucks at EDH, yes in some cases. It wastes the time of people looking for a tight, clean game when they have to babysit my triggers or whatever. There are definitely tables I put extra effort at because I know I’m not that great at things, I even lower deck complexity to manage things
