Just a wee bit of seasonal cheer to lift my mood. I change out my dining table as seasons change.

Mine aren’t quite as gorgeous as yours, but I’m in US at a more southern latitude. I love Iris!

This China Rose has formed a symbiotic relationship with an Eastern Red Cedar. I ain’t well enough to trellis, so the rose climbed up on the juniper. Appears both are healthy as heck. There is a lesson there.

The Wacky Cake with no eggs, Hershey cocoa in the cake and icing, all made from scratch. The ancient pan was my mom, who lived through the Depression. She made this cake up until the early 80s, and this tastes like childhood!

This rose is from a rose bush my grandmother gave my mother before I was born. I know it’s at least 58 years old. The one below it is from a clipping of the parent rose, and it blooms a darker shade. May peace, and love and joy be granted unto all my brothers and sisters out there.

I got book 3 in this fantastic YA series! If you or your teens are looking for a strong female protagonist and a new spin on the Arthurian legends, then this series is for you! I read the first two on the library app, but couldn’t wait this one out.

First post here in a while. I deactivated Facebook yesterday. I know it’s the right thing, but I’ll miss keeping up with older friends and relatives, and community events. I’ve got to find a way to make Bluesky and Substack fill my needs. Here’s to new friends. Here’s a dog pic for yall!

Walking by this abandoned fairgrounds/ballfield, I could hear the cheers from American Legion baseball games long over. The fair was a big event here, as well as the Ozark Folk Festival, but that ended more than 25 years ago.

Part of my beloved family…my dogs Fancy, Brat and Bella. All three have some degree of dachshund but Bella appears to be mixed with a retriever of some sort. They have my heart!
