I gotta have that .324 career obp in the leadoff spot!
December 16, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Boy do I have news for you..
December 12, 2025 at 1:43 AM
That'll do quite nicely.

He was on a 1-year arbitration contract of $2.2m. Braves paid him a pro-rated portion of that. Claiming him with only 1 day left in the regular season, their gamble cost them $10,000, or perhaps $20,000 depending on if their responsibility was inclusive or exclusive of the day they claimed him.

This ignores that he was a waiver claim. If he was claimed by a team further down the waiver priority, and wasn't lousy, the nri opportunity never materializes.

What they did was maximize information and minimize risk. Your scenario is the exact opposite of that: deprive yourself of information and then make a more expensive decision.
November 22, 2025 at 1:08 AM
That would be the exact opposite? What they did was have an opportunity to watch him up close, see his stuff in their own bullpens with their own coaches, get their own medicals, see his personality and coachability and work ethic, all before having to decide to pay real money.

Take him back.

ROTSH Award Winner!
November 11, 2025 at 1:05 AM
They could add a Rookie of the Second Half award?
November 11, 2025 at 12:48 AM
To look at what's gone on the last 3 years and saying "Yep, this is fine. More of this, please," is absolute insanity. There are only so many ways to shake things up when literally the whole club has long term deals. They just wasted a big one.

It's the first-round playoff exit of manager hires
November 3, 2025 at 10:55 PM
This hire is Alex Anthopolous looking around for the last 3 years and saying "This is fine."
November 3, 2025 at 10:52 PM
This is Braves to a T. It's the first-round playoff loss of manager hires. You can convince yourself they won't do it, but of course they'll do it, because it's all they ever do.

Lol

Yes. Very good take. We all are white men with million dollar contracts.

Had a feeling this might happen on Sale day. Wouldn't be surprised if it didn't come from him.

Well if you believe James McCann, the clubhouse down in Gwinnett was pretty ticked off about how they treated Craig Kimbrel. He said so publicly, in real time.
September 23, 2025 at 10:00 PM
If they want that kind of positive PR among the fan base, they absolutely deserve to face criticism when they treat people poorly. Kudos to Lindsay for saying it out loud.
September 23, 2025 at 9:58 PM
The team could cultivate any kind of reputation among the players around the league, and we wouldn't have to know anything about it. We know all this "importance of the person, importance of the clubhouse" stuff only because AA loves to talk publicly about it.
September 23, 2025 at 9:57 PM
Kimbrel is the kind of guy that fans will line up to see at Alumni Sundays down the road. Disgraceful how he was treated.

Lara is a glthe kind of talent to whom you might be sliding an offer for a contract extension someday. Two obvious opportunities to debut in front of his parents. Disgraceful.

AA doesn't get to talk to DOB and Buck and Belue or whoever about this "philosophy," and then treat people poorly. Or, actually, he does, but he shouldn't get to without receiving criticism for it. So kudos.
