Luke Harding wrote the book ‘Invasion’ and is based in Kyiv at present. So his knowledge of Russian (& others) have drawn attention to a tangled web of who wrote what & when. So many other posts noting all of this. You could say the ‘brown stuff’ is hitting the fan!

The ‘Peace Plan’ appears to have been originally written in Cyrillic script, according to Luke Harding the journalist that writes in the Guardian.

‘Donkeys’ have been at the forefront of this type of criticism since the daft days of a Yes/No referendum on leaving the EU, from 2018.

Not that far to the Belarus border if they were infiltrated from there. 150k, 2-3 hrs. Google maps show quite an open & watery landscape. Small communities towards Belarus.

Well I’m so amazed that the voters at the time of the Ref’ didn’t understand the various types of Brexit that you could choose if you turned over the slip & put your X in a box. Especially as the various types of Brexit choices were so brilliantly explained. No? Oh dear, what a shame, never mind!

Ermm, trade offs? You mean riding Unicorns to the sunlit uplands! Pah! Didn’t those who voted leave turn over the ballot paper and tick one of the boxes for how we wanted Brexit? Oh!

Yes, but ought to be 9 ish if bypassing Paris? Ideally a sleeper, but that idea & rolling stock was sold to Canada in the 90’s.

And when you see the videos of ‘Gangs’ of ICE ‘brown shirts’ violently manhandling people into unmarked vehicles, it’s just a modern version of;

This was John Armistead's 1998 photo of a Regional Eurostar in Manchester and a Regional Eurostar at Birmingham International by an unknown photographer at a similar date. "Le Eurostar Habite ice'' on the wall of Manchester's Longsight's Depot was never to be, and that was about a decade ago!

Those of us over this side of the Atlantic remember the 82nd paratroopers marched on through France & Belgium, after being dropped over the Beaches of Normandy on D Day 1944, then parachuted at Arnhem & finally marched to Berlin where they were the Guard of Honour at the Brandenburg Gate in 1945.

Gosh, didn’t know all these Pirates were about to wreck Portland? I’ll have ask the neighbouring port of Weymouth if they can see fire & smoke? Ah ha me hearties!

Tory + Reform may well have started to unsettle NI, especially as NI have a pathway for a different future should the voters of England decide Tory/Reform are the new Gov' in 4 yrs.
Also this BA report on how the Scot's Parl' might(?) not allow their removal from the ECHR ➡️ Scotland Act 1998.

Apropos how a future British Bill of Rights (& withdrawal from the ECHR) might affect Scotland (The Scotland Act [amended] 1998, pp12 may be relevant.
Interesting read, Author is Christine Bell. Can be downloaded from the Royal Academy. Will Tory/Reform open a can of worms N of Hadrian's Wall?

Flying the ‘Red Duster’ today until sunset
September 3, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Next week I might fly the ‘Red Duster’ of the Merchant Navy as Sep 3rd is the anniversary of WWII & the longest conflict - Battle of the Atlantic. So many lives lost by all combatants keeping our country fed and supplied with military kit from N America & beyond. Freedom from fascists has a price.

Goodness me if stories about students and cones over on this side of ‘The Pond’ are heard about over there, we won’t be allowed in the Oval Office ever again!

I’ve found it! A late 9th century Japanese scroll with the Emperor in the middle surrounded by (in order of preference) those who would gift to him and get something in return. (Marriage?) An outer ring of those who pay dearly for obsequiousness to the Emperor (substitute Emperor for President).
