While CM Parker's amendment to add a surcharge to capital gains income to help pay for ending homelessness, DC's child tax credit, & more didn't pass, we thank the CMs who worked to raise resources for the critical programs that support DC residents with the fewest resources.

Roughly 1,500 households hold 1/2 the wealth in DC. And, Congress is gutting vital programs, taking food off people’s tables to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy.

Federal officials are slashing programs like Medicaid & SNAP to pay for tax cuts for the rich, jeopardizing DC residents' ability to meet their basic needs.

DC leaders need to rise to the occasion by raising adequate revenue to support needed investments.
