Mileage will vary with Vander. He looks younger than he is (upper 20s vs upper 40s), but he’s got a lot of tattoos and scars, including ritualized and arcane ones. For what it’s worth, he believes he makes them look good.

Jaaster’s an anxious guy who gets in his own head a lot, so he’d probably frustrate people who just want to see a guy kick ass, especially once he does so and doesn’t stay in that mode.

Vander vacillates between Kugane and Radz-at-Han based on his associations and history. They’re both ports with huge markets, a wide array of entertainment, and as trade hubs they give him points of access to other locales. Limsa Lominsa used to be that for him, but it’s been ruined for him.

Most of the time, Vander will be nice and let them down easy, especially if he can tell they’re earnest or nervous. If they rub him the wrong way, though, he’ll lead them on until he finds an opportunity to cut the legs out from under them.

Black mage fits Vander’s aesthetic and style of casting most closely, and the tradition of the art of destruction being the vanguard of combating voidsent incursions is incredibly on brand for him, so I level it to max with each expansion.
