Thankfully, with distros like Ubuntu its a lot easier to use Linux than it once was.

It can't be as bad as working in an office directly below the top deck of a hospital ship, next to the service elevator, when the deck crew decides it's OK to drop 500 kg metal objects on the deck. The bang and vibrations have me convinced something is coming through the ceiling at any moment.
