Queer friendly bars like black hart, and since summer is around the corner, some wonderful events.
I don’t want to be that guy, but you mention that she’s from a small town, do you think it might be that the area does have a larger population of black/hispanic people that’s the issue?

It’s a shift, I grew up in Shakopee so I get it, people from small towns act like the cities are a lawless jungle.
That Dollar tree/cub foods area can be weird, but only at night usually. I haven’t heard about any big thefts recently so if she did see someone in a mask, they might have been cold?

It’s not particularly sketchy other than the snelling ave/university ave intersection. Also, in the years I’ve lived in the area. I’ve seen many things but no one in masks
