Yea I miss tiktok for news updates but luckily most that I follow either here on Bluesky or on Substack so that helps but do miss out trending topics however the algorithm has been compromised then trending news might not be as reliable anymore

I left tiktok this week after the US ban. I got the ick cause my account got ban even though Im none US & never step foot in the US ever. There was no reason for my account to be impacted by the ban. The whole ban debacle let me know tiktok was compromised & they had the ability to censor.

Been using Storygraph since 2021 and will always recommend it over Goodreads. Such a great app imo run by a great team
