"Killing Eve - Resurrecction" will come out as a print version this Fall (2025), and the audio-book version will be available on Audible in June. #lukejenningsauthor #killingeve

If his conscious mind is a crazy monkey, his subconscious mind is a well meaning depressive, suicidal dog that has no say...

In my small corner of the world the main media network is the WDR (West German Broadcasting). Public, i.e. people (not state) owned. One state wide and several local TV stations. 10 radio stations. Professional Web news. Cooperation with Universities. Wildly independent. Cannot be bought or sold...

Best dog ever. Phina. Trained girl protector. Mother of ten. Trickster by birth. Opener of doors. More clever than most humans (bet she would not have voted for the Trump).

Does THIS come to mind, when you think of Germany? :-)

If you don't know what this is, figure it out, otherwise please don't bother talking to me.

I asked an AI to visualize what planet Earth might think of mankind:

I'm a night person. I also like it quiet, the only sound is the crackling fire, the mildly snoring dogs on the couch.

What's not in the picture -- on the other side, his side, Planet Earth looks like this (good luck, Donald -- Karma is a bitch!):

The original Martin Niemöller text is now increasingly popping up in German social media:

Even during dark and grey Winter days we in GER have close to 70% electricity production from low carbon renewable energy. Over the year it's around 90%. @USA: the European power grid is far more stable than yours. #energy #energytransition #renewableenergy #lowcarbon #climatechange #sustainability

And yes -- we got her at age one and she lived to almost twelve. Peaceful, happy, free. Only we had a lot of hassle and costs with special permit and extra insurance etc. The tale of the dangerous Pitbull. Strange: Not a single German breed is listed as dangerous. In Germany, mind you...

To add one more member to this artificial extended family: auntie Amie (RIP). Pitbull but one of the kindest spirits I ever met. You probably know that: some rescued dogs are broken, but some are infinitely and eternally grateful. That was her.

A little appreciation for the younger Sirius who wasn't an "uncle" yet. But he was in turn brought up by a lovely Pitbull lady (No, I'm not referring to my daughter, although the term sometimes would seem fitting...), picture from 2018

This is Nordkirchen Castle, about five minutes driving from where I am sitting right now (home, that is). It is a historical landmark, maintenance costs are ridiculous. At one point it had become a finance college. The thing rivals Versailles. It was a bishop's residence. These humble Christians.

Well, my fireplace works, but the ghosts are afraid of the dogs... photo as of now. 😉

I won't disagree. That was in January. The following one is from June (Phina, Orion and Alex):

Germany. Science facts, incl. climate change and weather data, are public but rarely used by the public. What an extreme flooding event out of nowhere looks like: the Funne, a tiny local stream, usually w. 10 cm water, exploding to 190. Happened state wide!

A little reminder. Screenshot of my weather station (the Geographer in me dies hard). North-Western Europe, not far from North Sea. Half our trees died. A little later our house was damaged by torrential rain. Many in the state died. #climatechange #climatefacts #extremeweather #drought #floods

And here the twin puppies Orion and Alex again. That's a typical picture of the two from early this year:

So -- to follow up: a picture of Mama Phina and a few of her pups, January 23:

Nice doggie. Is he part greyhound? Strong body and slim head. Actually that applies to our Sirius the Dobie, too. So here are the other two: left is mommie Phi, mother of Orion, Alex et al, right is uncle Siri(us). House of girls and dogs here.
