Very retired old guy. Decent amateur photographer. Grew up in a Roosevelt Democrat household. Learned to hate Richard Nixon at my mother's knee.
Trixie is not pleased by the number of cat pictures on here.

Thanksgiving about 5 p. m. Me, standing under the pergola over our patio, reflected in the top of the Weber kettle. There is half a turkey breast in there. It will be ready for Thanksgiving dinner in about 50 minutes. Photo experiments do not always work.

We bought a new countertop appliance a few days ago. I read the manual. It was clearly written by a non-native English speaker but was understandable. Except for the sentence that said "This devise must be earthed." It took me a while to realize it had to be "grounded."

These are papaws ( or, pawpaws, paw paws, or paw-paws, among many regional names) a fruit that mostly grows in the eastern United States and southern Ontario, Canada. I took this picture at Andy’s Orchard store in Morgan Hill, CA this afternoon.

Another spectacular sky when I went out to get the newspaper this morning. Taken just after 6 a. m. in San Jose, CA. A camera phone picture since I did not think these "rose tipped fingers of dawn" would last long enough for me to grab the camera.

Three books I have read every few years for many decades.
--To Kill a Mockingbird
--Slaughterhouse-Five, or, The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance with Death
--The Great Gatsby

If I had to be stranded on a desert island I would take Mockingbird and Gatsby plus The Essential Rumi.

The sky about 6:45 this morning. To the east at left. To the west at right. No rain for us so far but as much as 10 inches about an hour north of us.
