The game is really challenging too. My only complain so far is that the grappling hook costs too much energy and the snake boss is too hard!

Everybody should try this game. It plays really well, you feel like you are going fast. The levels look and play great. They do not feel repetitive at all, and the color palette of the tracks really stands out. So do the obstacles and structures. They also feel fair.

In my opinion this works great for games that have the "join up with my buddies on discord and grind" vibe or competitive games, but not so much for "single player experiences"

I feel like the seasonal, live service structure makes it easier for games to fall from "challenge" to "chore".
It also rewards optimization, but not in a speed-run sense, more in a "reward / (time + effort)" way.

It might be because I did every single quest, but it also took me a while to finish the game.
No idea what the weapons do tho, the kinetic two hander gives you a rocket jump and that's literally the only thing I used the entire game.

I liked the crafting system, I liked the boss design too. The fights play different when you are trying to kill the boss for parts or when you are trying to harvest magic out of them.
The game also keeps you on your toes with the boss design.

I think you should spend that energy in something else. Like making more match analysis videos, those are really cool.

I feel like GGG's response is understandable. I read someone who said something along the lines of "They expected the first impression to be the launch after a year of EA , but they found out the first impression is now". I think POE 1 will be fine once POE 2 is in a less rough state.

Loving the game so far!

Do you think the price of simulacrums will crash once everyone interested gets their points?

I found Cruel way more enjoyable since you have most of the tools you need. At times it feels like a victory lap.

I think some bosses feel like brick walls because the balance is all over the place and they (GGG) weren't expecting this amount of attention during early-early-access.
But Geonor is really rough if you have no cold res. Get hit by one beam? Good luck being frozen for 7 days.

I saw someone else mention that the Hyena in act 2 was also really hard for them. I think the oppressive arenas of the Hyena and the viper are really cool, but make it really hard to breathe if you are under geared.
Having a chest with rings with cold res before Geonor sounds like a good idea 1/n

What are you playing? I've found that some archetypes are incredibly under-tuned. And like you said, it really shows in the Hyena. The boss doesn't look like it should be hard, but the cramped arena makes it really hard for some characters.

Last epoch for example handles the trade issue by giving the player the choice of playing with improved drops or trading. Diablo had issues with the auction house.
If they add an auction house to the game and it turns out to be detrimental and has to be removed, people will riot. 3/3

I'm pretty sure they already said that a better/asynchronous trading interface is coming to the game in the future, but that they are being careful with it's implementation.
Easy access to trading really changes the way you interact with the game and the way the economy works in the game 2/n

As the game evolved, so did the design philosophies that guide the game.
These where the ideas that the designers had in 2017: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-t...
Today, things have obviously changed (We have an automated currency exchange in the game. It's Alva in act 3)

The community at large celebrates new people learning the game because we know it's fun.
There's joy in learning complex and difficult games, and no one in the community would judge or deride someone for not playing optimally. 4/4
