Overall this Special is a 6/10 for me. I know I said a lot of bad things about it, but really there's just not any memorable or outstanding about this special. could've been a good TV episode, but an hour and a half movie? no way.

As for the NPC girl character, Lisa is one of the worst, she's supposed to be smart but behaves very dumb, and she contributes nothing to the plot besides crying and providing Lupin a trinket that helps them find the mcguffin.

Like seriously this movie is 80% Lupin and Jigen, 10% Goemon, 5% Zenigata, and %5 Fujiko. Zenigata and Fujiko are given nothing to do in this one.

The Story is also nothing to write home about. Very basic Lupin III fair, which I don't mind. If a Lupin story has a basic premise, they can make for it in the writing in characters. However there's no stand out character moments in this one, and the gang is split up for most of it.

Now the bad, I don't know if it was a budget thing or because of time constraints, but man this animation is ROUGH. The characters, especially the new ones, go off model every once in a while, and you can tell they were taking shortcuts. its a shame, an art style this good deserves better animation.

I liked the Goemon subplot! It was pretty silly and fun, however I think it would've worked better as it's own TV episode instead of a plot line in this special. It very haphazardly connects to the main plot, just felt lazy.

First what I liked, I really like the art style! I might be in the minority but I'm fan of minimal shading and color. The Lupin gang looks good and the new female characters have super cute designs. They look a lot like Detective Conan characters, probably because this has the same art director.

This is probably my new favorite Lupin special. Most of these specials follow the same formula and depending on who directs it, they can vary from very good to very bad. This special however is 100% one of the good ones. The animation is fluid, the premise is unique, I 100% recommend!

Also, this is my new favorite interpretation of Fujiko. Fujiko is at her best IMO when she works with the gang and not backstab them. She’s more cute than sexy in this special, and she acts like a fun pouty rich girl. Meredith McCoy’s vocal performance as her was so fun and great!

Don’t get me wrong, I will always love and prefer the Epcar cast. But there’s something about Funi’s realistic line delivery, voice direction, and writing that I just love!
