The tough thing is that the alternative isn't much better. The only team that really just let a guy walk was Washington with Cousins, and it led to 6 years wandering in the Smith/Haskins/Heinicke/Wentz/Howell desert before ending up with Daniels.

It all trickles down. It's the way it is because Smith wants it that way and Smith is the OC because Tomlin wants it that way and Tomlin is the HC because the Rooneys want it that way. This is Steelers football, and it isn't changing anytime soon.

Yeah it was pretty obvious just looking at their schedule that when they got to their NFC East stretch it would start looking better. Need to see at least one good game against either Detroit or Green Bay at the end of the year too.

I'm not sure if it's better or worse that they ran 42 plays today. Only running 30 plays against the Chiefs is still one of the craziest NFL stats I've ever seen.

The Vikings and Chiefs were eliminated on the same day. If you'd told me that before the season I would have expected to be happier about the season than I am now.

This reminds me of one of my favorite movie-related experiences: a guy sitting next to me on a flight watching "In the Heights" with no headphones, just subtitles

Basically. Saying, "Oh wow you had to sign some old guy because you don't have a good young QB sitting 3rd on your depth chart." As opposed to in the past, when there were apparently enough QBs for every team to have 3 good starting options?

God I love this. Just a perfect example of how there has been so much football through history that almost everything imaginable has happened. Makes it even more special when someone genuinely does something no one has ever done before, like Jalen Hurts turning the ball over twice on the same play.

Yeah he has an interesting coaching history. Basically made a ton of money in a hedge fund, retired, funneled a lot of that money into a high school football team, made himself the head coach of that team, then parlayed that success into a college job.

Not going to happen, but KOC and Burrow would be a fascinating pairing to see. Two guys who are convinced they know the right way to run an offense and stubborn about doing anything else.

I haven't seen all of them, but of the ones I've seen I'm not sure there's been one I actually liked since the original. I think it's possible that dinosaurs just aren't that interesting. Which makes Spielberg's achievement even more incredible (I personally think it's his best movie)

Only if the defender meets all criteria for it to be a catch. Control, 2 feet down, and then some element of time (either a third foot or a football move).

So after reading the rulebook it still seems a little unclear to me. But I think the answer is if the Chargers had fumbled on the return the Eagles could have won by picking it up and scoring, but any other outcome and the game would be over.
