Decide that “suddenly” Star Trek became OK with casual racism.
Quite frankly, far too many people have formed their opinions on recent Trek based on the opinions of one particular person and it’s a bit disappointing to see how few think for themselves about this anymore.

I’m sorry you had to deal with this. I find in unconscionable how many people have bandwagoned onto one extreme interpretation of this episode and decided it’s OK to behave with such vitriol over it. It’s not a Starfleet way to behave. The outrage over this feels so manufactured and extreme.

Nah, that’s not how it works. We’re dickheads when people are bigots. That’s when it happens, it’s a response to bigotry. The bigotry is always the first part, ALWAYS. “Asking questions” about how to support sounds real mansplainy too.

Star Trek is a mirror to the now, and this episode to me spoke of the racism and white supremacy which is so rampant in today’s social fabric.

Yeah, this paper, Fuji Acros, and selenium toner make for GORGEOUS high contrast prints. It is my favorite paper as such. Of course, it’s not easy to find anymore, I haven’t seen it in stock in years.

I found an unopened box of 11x14 Oriental fiber paper at the thrift shop once. $1.99 for ten or twenty sheets, can’t remember. Printed my fine art degree gallery show on it.

I spent COVID getting an animation degree specifically to get into this work (prior background in photo and film) I graduated to no work because of AI.
This also reminds me of Andy Serkis denying credit to the WETA animators who animated Gollum, taking all credit for himself for the character.

Problem is there has become an increase in the culture of hating on it from the left now too. So many of these “hot takes” (which are rushed to “print” so these “influencers” get their YouTube dollars) sound virtually no different than RLM. One hears the hate before seeing the episode weekly now.
