The UAW has supported targeted tariffs for decades and not one of the bluesky tariff experts ever cared but now the UAW has "sold out" and "Fain is a scab and a bootlicker" bc the union is affirming the same position it's had well before Trump ever showed up. Wild.

The UAW opposes 99 out of 100 things the Trump administration has done and has spoken out about those things, but bc the UAW has long supported targeted tariffs and still supports targeted tariffs today, the UAW is the devil, apparently.

"I disagree with UAW leadership on tariffs so I hope their entire membership goes to hell" is really an interesting take to have from folks who claim to care about workers.

Anyone who doubts the importance of having pro-labor politicians in office when it comes to labor need only to read about the 1937 UAW sit-down strike in Flint, MI. Having a US president, Sec. of Labor and state governor sympathetic to strikers' cause made all the difference in the outcome.
