I appreciate the movie title references in your last two podcast episodes… “Road Warriors: Blue Jays fight back…”, and “Mad Max’s furious road win…”

@wilnerness.bsky.social Your listener is correct that at some point in ‘92 or ‘93 the players decided to ditch the white panel caps and wear the full blue caps for both the home white+road grey uniforms - in order to kill a losing streak. I don’t remember if this was in ‘92 or ‘93, but it happened.

@wilnerness.bsky.social re: the listener question about the ‘92 or ‘93 teams dropping the original logo white panel caps, in ‘89 to ‘92 (or ‘93, I don’t remember which year this stopped), the Jays wore the white panel cap at home and the full blue cap on the road. (Cont’d)

1) Why won’t Rogers erect any statues of Blue Jays at the ‘Dome? (So far there’s only a statue of… Ted Rogers)

2) I think the recent Rogers Centre renovations missed an opportunity to include more Blue Jays content and team history. What do you two think?

Two questions/comments for a future Deep Left Field podcast:
1) Why won’t Rogers erect any statues of Blue Jays at the ‘Dome? (So far there’s only a statue of… Ted Rogers)

2) Can Rogers renovate the renovations to include more Blue Jays content and team history?

“Trump is acting like a king,” (by issuing Executive Orders)
…“because he is too weak to act like a President” (by writing and passing laws through Congress).

“Muzzle velocity”: Steve Bannon’s term for Trump’s strategy to deluge the media and the public with a firehose of destructive changes to government and society, at a rapid-fire pace designed to overwhelm our capacity to detect and respond.

Thanks @gregniemeyer.bsky.social ! The fibers have been straightened to an extent (they’re naturally curly), which helps prevent them from tangling. Beyond that, some manual combing (with a simple tool) can be done as a maintenance cycle if/when lots of visitors go through it.
