TODAY (18 Nov), corresponding to the 18th day of the 9th Tibetan month, marks the anniversary of the parinirvāṇa of the great Indian master Atiśa Dīpaṃkara (982–1054). On this same anniversary in 1956, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö composed a 4-line prayer:
