with delaying Biden's agenda until after the midterms was known by everybody in the party especially frontline centrist dems as what hurt their electoral chances which snowballed to now.
Schumer and Durbin allowed it to happen but I doubt they wanted it to happen.

Manchin is still a fossil fuel guy and cares more about short term short sighted corporate interests than even the Democratic Party's electoral chances. "Leadership" if they can be called that still care about the electability of frontline Democrats and the backstabbing that they did in the senate

yea revolving villain is certainly a theory. Considering the absolute lack of anything resembling leadership in the Senate I'd be more inclined to believe that they did what they did b/c they wanted to do it. Sinema is currently selling her soul out to AI data centers poisoning small towns
