Hurricane Melissa took an incredible 15-mile wobble to the west and northwest immediately before landfall on Jamaica's southern coast.

Hurricane-force winds only extend 30 miles from the center of the storm.

Trochoidal wobbles are a regular occurrence with powerful tropical systems.

Peak 10sec Flight Level winds inside the eyewall of #Hurricane #Melissa just now measured at 186mph.

We'll see what NHC says in the next update for winds at the surface, but this is an incredibly powerful and deadly hurricane.

Take a good look, because Category 5 Hurricane #Melissa is now one of the strongest hurricanes on record in the Atlantic Basin.

⚠️ Sustained winds now up to 175 mph gusting to 200mph+⚠️

Praying for Jamaica as "complete and total destruction of some structures" is likely, according to NHC.
