Elon Musk has shut down a team of tech-savvy civil servants responsible for developing the IRS’s free tax-filing service and improving government websites. As a result, 90 employees were immediately locked out of their devices and informed that their jobs were deemed non-essential.

😡 It’s Not A HOAX
The US Dept. of Education’s Office of Civil Rights has dismissed 11 complaints and six allegations related to book bans, saying it was ending "Biden’s book ban hoax."

PEN America counted over 10,000 instances of school book bans in the 2023-24 school year, nearly 3X the number in the previous year.

Young Teen Lit should be developmentally appropriate for ages 12 to 15. Themes can be complex & edgy, & the books can & should deal with hard topics. Main characters should be 8th-10th grade. Books recommended for grades 3, 4, and 5 should not be considered as #youngteenlit. (2/6)
