He was the nicest guy and a years-long pedestrian and accessibility advocate. If anything his work is undersold in this article. The way he died was so unfair and sick.

I’ll check this out. Curious if they have thoughts on South Korea’s politicians seemingly having a very different set of incentives than ours do and how that impacted this. Examples: 23 day election cycle, public financing, cable news not being a major political force, single term, etc.

That was basically the pitch of I-732 in 2016, and it drew a ton of industry opposition and failed too.

I don’t think we can discount the power of fossil fuel money in this. It killed I-732, it killed I-1631 in 2018, and it has a good chance of helping I-2117 in 2024 if we aren’t careful.

Whatever reach you may have had there is likely diminished now anyway. The algorithm is such a mess and it’s such a cesspool of bad content.
