Editing gameplay footage is a much more time consuming effort than i anticipated... but i now went through my 72 hours of #Silksong footage!

Now, 16 hours is a bit too long, even for a supercut, so i'm gonna have to go over everything again and find ways to save time lol.

Working on #SXSG shader docs, just finished writing hedgedocs.com/index.php/Sh....

By using RenderDoc and my decompiled shaders, i can make fancy example graphics showing how advanced shaders like these work~

Hopefully this will help newcomers understand how to use these shaders for their mods!

It appears there exists no proper standalone editor for Hedgehog engine materials... until now!

Spent a few days putting it together using my Avalonia libraries. Right now it only does the bare minimum but will receive more features (like shader templates) in the future!

I've been doing more #SXSG shader reverse engineering, reached the shaders that blend texture sets now.

One of them, DirectionBlend_dpnndpn (used in kingdom valley), has a bug that incorrectly applies the third normal map.

I checked out how it looks when fixed, and it does make a difference!

Alright, i finished reverse engineering the common vertex shader from #SXSG! This means i now have all major boilerplate code done to ramp up shader reverse engineering next week!

As a bonus, have a vibrating Shadow (he accidentally hit his elbow):

Been reverse engineering the #SXSG vertex shader, and found something referred to as "deformers".

I could not find these used ingame so far, so i replicated the effect in blender using geometry nodes!

(If anyone saw something like this used in SXSG or frontiers, please inform me, thx)

I have finally fully reverse engineered the #SXSG deferred rendering shaders & the Common_dpn shader.
Took almost 3500 lines of HLSL code, but now i can start working on other shaders too!

Big thanks to @skyth.bsky.social again, this would've taken forever without him!

I finished reverse engineering the SXSG deferred rendering combiner shader!

So much cool stuff happening in there, i hope i get to apply much of what i learn while doing this in SCR or other projects in the future!

I still got a lot ahead tho!
