@meidastouch.com is reaching people because they elevate voices that may be hidden in established media circles. On healthcare, they embraced frontline nursing & medical voices from the start. Congrats on your success this far! @meiselasb.bsky.social @bmeiselas.bsky.social @meidasjordy.bsky.social

The American Dream doesn’t solely belong to any single group of people. It should be available to all of us.

I am honored to be included among 100 other amazing individual leaders & stories in the newly opened Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington DC.

At the federal level, the lack of a recommendation further erodes trust in ACIP & our federal institutions. When patients get mixed messages from institutions that were once trusted, it creates uncertainty & fear without context, which is the main problem.

Nurses associations in WA, OR, CA, & HI stand by our #westcoasthealthalliance leaders. Healthcare must be grounded in science, not partisan ideology. Nurses stand ready to protect our patients from the erosion of trust in our federal health agencies. @governorferguson.bsky.social @wsna.bsky.social

Thank you KOMO for the opportunity to talk about the West Coast Health Alliance, in response to a lack of reliability from RFK Jr. and federal agencies.

Infectious diseases & health threats respond to objective science, not political/ideological bias.

Proud to be represented by @murray.senate.gov. RFK Jr. must be removed as HHS Secretary.

-Nurses, physicians, and healthcare workers deserve better
-Patients & communities deserve better
-Taxpayers deserve better

The clown show must end, & RFK Jr. must go!

The best way to continue to change hearts and minds is by telling our real-life stories, & translating the impact of policy on actual lives. We can’t give up after this HR 1 fight. We all lose when we stop resisting injustice & cruelty. Turn that anger into motivation to speak up. @wsna.bsky.social

These two nurses could be deciding vote on HR 1.

If they vote yes, then they will need to answer to their profession & constituents about why they voted to take away healthcare access from millions.

Nurses please call Rep. Kiggans & Rep. Sheri Biggs before the vote!

Shame! Yes she got kickbacks, but she doesn’t realize that Alaskans still depend on a stable & accessible system in WA. Harborview Seattle is Alaska’s closest Level 1 facility. She may feel she is helping Alaska, but she is hurting the state that Alaskans need to function well to access vital care.

Nurses standing up and speaking out in Seattle at #nokings #nokingsseattle.

We consistently rank as the most trusted profession. Because of that, we have a responsibility to speaking up for what is right when our patients and profession are threatened

Coalition Statement from Nursing Organizations

Now the focus needs to be on preventing the new ACIP (clearly chosen based on ideological bias) from harming patients.
June 12, 2025 at 1:52 PM
Wow! Just made it worse!

Nurses & docs would never get away with saying this to a patient that can’t afford a treatment or diagnostic test. Humans do die at some point, but they shouldn’t die because of your reckless vote in the Senate.

Thank you @aodnewz.bsky.social w/ @thehill.com for this reporting. "Informed decision making" is a part of what clinicians do in any scenario, weighing risk vs. benefit, & individualizing options for patients. It will be interesting to see what the HHS response will be.

@wsna.bsky.social is joining eight other Washington-based health care organizations in a lawsuit against the federal government. They’re demanding the restoration of removed content and an end to further deletions

🚨Today, @wsna.bsky.social has joined eight other plaintiffs in a lawsuit against federal health agencies seeking restoration of databases & other resources pulled from those agencies’ websites.

We must be courageous & steadfast in our efforts to protect our patients & profession

Thank you @statnews.com for the opportunity to contribute to this story.

RFK Jr.’s misinformation creates confusion in a time that we need clarity & trust. I support @apha.org, @drsforamerica.bsky.social, & @nursesforamerica.bsky.social’s stance. I wish more national orgs would step up & speak out!

Proud to represent nurses & speak to tens of thousands of activists @ the Seattle #HandsOff. This administration will try to flood the zone with chaos & cruelty, but we—nurses, healthcare workers, & allies—are here to place sandbags around our institutions & our patients. We will protect them.

There is a difference between those that make reckless policy decisions, like cutting Medicaid, & those of us in the trenches doing the work.

When I see a patient, I am accountable for the care I provide. Lawmakers promoting these cuts should consider the same level of accountability.
March 18, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Thank you @murray.senate.gov for bringing together advocates and nurses to push back against harmful Medicaid cuts. Nurses, physicians, and healthcare workers must join together and speak out against these cuts that will impact millions of Americans and Washingtonians!
