Japanese Word of the Day knows it's almost basho time

Tokihayate and I came close to walking into each other as he arrived at Edion Arena. He came out of the stairwell while I was speeding down the hallway. This was my view after, while trying to remember his name! On TV, he resembles fake Enho. In person, he resembles fake Oho.

I have admired the art of @majohammajoster for years, so when I went to Japan I made a point of looking for this book, even though I can't read Japanese. It took visits to 3 different stores to find it! It's home with me now in 🇨🇦.

Today, I visited Ōtori Taisha, where Arashio Beya is staying. The smell of bintsuke wafted out the door, which had been propped open. Caught a glimpse of someone heading to the basho and got the shrine's limited edition goshuin!
