The humans that initially were going to take these ladies back after I raised them are unable to do so.
They have asked me to keep them and are paying for spays, chips, etc. They just want to visit them sometimes to play with and love on them.

One late morning after coming home from errands I saw an emaciated kitten covered in maggots by my front stairs. Thinking it was dead I picked it up to bag and dispose of but it screamed.
Luckily the maggots hadn't eaten any healthy tissue so I nursed him painstakingly back to health.
Ergo, Hades.

I wanted the yard so I can eventually get some chickens in the future, but mainly for this little old lady to have space to run around since she'd only ever lived in apartments.
Unfortunately she only got to see the yard twice because I had to put her down the week I moved everything to the house.
