I went to American schools overseas where history was actually taught in detail, but nothing remotely as detailed as Ken Burbs lays out. Unless you make it your business to learn history, it tends to be sanitized & hence loses relevance. Ken Burns portrays it as raw as it was in reality.

I just watched the first episode and I've learned so much.
It feels like the history of the Revolution that we've been taught is so fucking flat and narrow.
I get why it's on purpose.
This should be required watching for students.

I’m vegetarian and I’ve never been interested in any “imitation meat” products, so I’ve never even tasted tofurkey or anything of the like.
However… if any of these fake meat producers were ever smart enough to name their imitation turkey “Jive Turkey”, I’d have to try it just out of respect.
