Sourdough... it has been a hot minute. I tried to make it look like a giant brioche, but the scoring did not hold. I am also under the conclusion that I need a bigger Dutch oven.

It had been a busy summer in the garden. Made a tomatoe pie!! Didn't have a pie crust, but used Filo instead. It was pretty good and had enough to make a blueberry/blackberry strudel.

Last weeks bread!!
One fed, one not, before baking. I kind of liked the one that was not fed!! Had a chewy crust and was more sour.
The one that was fed, was lighter with a crusty crusty.
Both, delicious.
It is a never ending experiment.

I have often referred to the Sound of Music as reference of Pre WW2 Austria, as a comparison to what we are experiencing now.
It was not all the "fluffiness"
And sunshine and roses that it is in the musical.
Actually, their last days before the occupation were quite terrifying.
Highly recommend.
