Compared to online shopping, the brick & mortar experience ensures that you will leave the store with items that actually fit. Who has the time + patience navigating sizing charts that aren't standardized and the frustrating return process that comes with items in your order that don't work? Not me!

In this current era of online shopping via Shein and Temu (and arguably F21 towards the end of their run), the quality of the materials aren't what they used to be, so one tends to only get one or two wears out of a clothing item as a result.

Shopping at Forever 21 made sure I could meet my wardrobe needs with clothes that lasted. During my first year of college, there were shoes, sweaters, handbags, and more that survived Chicago winters for 3+ years!

Growing up, trips to the mall with my mom had to be strategic. Forever 21 came third to shopping for clothing necessities at major department stores (think Macy's and Nordstrom's teen sections) due to it's youthful appeal and budget-friendly price tags.

As a millennial who witnessed the transition from mall culture to e-commerce shopping in real time, this truly marked the end of an era and there's so much to unpack!
