Bought and read Claimed! by Gertrude Barrows Bennett after seeing it in a sale for 99p. A good, fun novella from 1920 about a mysterious green box that cannot be opened and might be causing weird events/hallucinations.

Every now and then I look up the lyrics to songs I've listened to a lot and I'm surprised. Now, I'm not sure what I thought yes! yes! a thousand times yes! by Home Is Where was about but erm, yeah …

The AF League isn't on bluesky but I'm glad to be part of a league that immediately refused FA England's decision and will continue to include trans and non-binary players

But it will get you through the night as well

I watched In Memorium last night and turns out it's a really good found footage horror about being trapped in a house/trapped by your past. Low budget and a little rough around the edges but that just adds to the charm.

Today's edition

Some kind of metal? Maybe industrial?

Black Metal Rainbows edited by Daniel Lukes & Stanimir Panayotov. Collection of essays and art about the queer, anarchistic, antifascist side of black metal. Really enjoying it so far (as someone who barely even dabbles in listening to black metal).

I don't even know why I'm surprised at this point

Saw a recommendation for a screamo band called The Civil War in France. They seem pretty good but I would never have guessed this was the aesthetic…

Name a show you're positive no one else remembers.

I do appreciate a good gig that finishes before 10pm so I can still have an early night

Excellent fun watching Kneecap and Gemma Dunleavy (with live harp!)

It's wild that someone did this and then donated it to a charity shop. Fortunately they did a bad job so it's still just about readable.

Mild spoilers. There's an insensitive panicked reaction when a character discovers his love interest is a trans woman but the lead singer of the band appears and basically tells him to fucking get over himself if he loves this woman. So he does.

Couldn't go to a gig because I was ill so needed to find something to cheer me up.

Up steps Wild Zero which did everything I needed and more. Ridiculous Japanese zombie B-movie from 1999 with the band Guitar Wolf playing fictional versions of themselves as the heroes.

Well, I'd love to say it was nice having you but it wasn't. Off you fuck.

Yup, this is fine

Even if this wasn't a child, that's a ridiculous place to stand to advertise "event parking" (and not the point but it's not even that near the arena)
