I was someone skeptical at first, given that this was not an actual filibuster but "just a long speech". Then it became the longest speech in Senate history. It ripped the media's attention from the business of normalizing Trump and to the horrific truth of Trump, and to the resistance. Good work!

Yes we need more.

I have to say though. He went after and broke the speaking record and that _did_ make this in the end a powerful act of resistance. It forced the media to turn away from normalizing Trump and towards the growing resistance. It was a publicity stunt -- but a good one

But this is merely performative. It's not an actual fight. Anyone in the Senate can stand up in the middle of the night and talk to the cameras for as long as they please.

Good, Corey, that you understand we want a fight. But we want a real one. Not just the appearance of one.

This is not a genuine filibuster.

There is nothing before the Senate that he is blocking -- no bills, no appointments.

This is just a long speech being delivered after hours.

The Democrats understand that their disapproval ratings are sky-high because people _want_ them to fight.
Good

No he is not. He is pretending to filibuster. There is nothing before the Senate -- no bills to delay, no appointments to block.

He is really just delivering a long speech. He is resisting nothing. And that is not good enough.

Why don't you do this when it really counts? And not just for the cameras.

You are blocking no nominations and no legislation. You are merely making a long speech and pretending it's a filibuster.

Do not be fooled by displays like this. The Democrats need to start using their power.

This is not a real filibuster. No legislation is up on the floor. He is just making a long speech and pretending it's a filibuster.

I prefer less feckless performative display from Democrats, and more genuine resistance.
