Now back to the MCU proper!
January 6, 2026 at 7:45 AM
Runaways S3 - very similar opinions to S1/2, but a little better. morgan is a more interesting villain, and once again nico is cool (and alex, a little). the timeskip is funny because it does not address the snap at all, even though this is technically MCU. regardless, slightly above mid. 6/10

Cloak and Dagger S1/2 - jesus the needle drops are insufferable in this show. it's watchable, and some of its plots around roxxon are cool, but its really just fine and very low budget. the actors for cloak and dagger are good though, if not phoning it in a little. 5/10

Runaways S1/2 - this shows first couple seasons were just fine. a pretty heavy slog, though nico makes up for it somewhat and i do want to see her in more projects. didnt care much for jonah as a villain. altogether fine, very YA marvel in a mediocre way. 5.5/10

Jessica Jones S3 - it was just alright. triss was insufferable with her new powers, which was kind of the point, but i wasnt all that invested in the struggle. foolkiller was fine. jessica has kind of dense characterization. not the best, but watchable. 5.5/10

The Punisher S2 - pretty good! had some flaws for sure; the plot with john and the kid was hard to follow until the last third of the show. frank is brutal as usual. did not care for jigsaw, but his final scene kinda makes up for it. decent altogether, cant wait for brand new day. 7/10

Daredevil S3 - awesome, with some flaws. dex is such a great character and i cant wait to see more of him. matt's relationship with his mom is very intriguing, and foggy/karen kill it as usual. excited to watch born again. 8/10

Iron Fist S2 - not groundbreaking but definitely better than the first season. davos is an interesting villain and seeing colleen take the mantle of iron fist was cool. danny has way better characterization here, and also ends up in a cool place narratively. 7/10

Luke Cage S2 - i liked this season a lot! mariah and shades were very interesting villains, and the jamaican culture representation in bushmaster was awesome to see. luke is awesome as usual, and ende up in a cool place narratively. 8/10

Been very busy, but I'm finally gonna continue this, even if it extends into 2026. hoping to catch up before the release of Avengers: Doomsday in december, which shouldnt be too hard since im pretty much done with all of the chaff of the mcu. anyways--

(2/2) --be at any point in the future. the same goes with your friendly neighborhood spiderman (and the into the spider-verse movies, as much as i'd love to include them). the fantastic four will be directly featured in the main continuity, so that film will be included in the watch. back to it!

quick intermission to address a few projects-- what if...?, marvel zombies, your friendly neighborhood spider-man, and fantastic four: first steps.

what if and marvel zombies both take place in alternate universes with no direct connection to the main universe, and i dont think there will-- (1/2)

Inhumans S1 - jesus fucking christ. 1.5/10
October 7, 2025 at 7:49 AM
(2/2) --left me wishing we could move on to the next thing, just for that to be the entire season. jessica flip flopped back and forth way too often, and by seasons end i was just glad it wrapped up. not bad, but drawn painfully on for too long when it couldve moved on sooner. 5/10

Jessica Jones S2 - the name of the game is "unnecessarily complicated". this season didnt have me engaged except for maybe a couple moments here and there. for the most part i watched it in the background while doing other things. it wasnt terrible or anything, but the plot with her mother-- (1/2)

(2/2) --felt stilted and odd, almost a bit rushed. the narrative was hit or miss, with only certain moments of certain episodes reeling me in. the action was cool sometimes, but the pace felt inconsistent and the characters were all pretty forgettable. interesting, but not any more than a 6.5/10

Eyes of Wakanda - took a little detour to watch this when it released, since it is technically the beginning of this chronological watch. following one of the best films ive ever seen, its sad to say this was kind of a disappointment. the concept and settings are cool, but the animation-- (1/2)

(9/9) --for fear of not being blown away every time i see it. i am giving black panther an unquestionable 10/10.
September 4, 2025 at 8:54 PM
(8/9) --characters are compelling, the story is gripping, the setting is colorful, the narrative is moving, and chadwick boseman, may he rest in peace, ties it all together in a bow with his performance, delivering a practically perfect film. a movie i would only watch every once in a long while--

(7/9) --culture that its people keep alive. the special effects from beginning to end are nearly flawless, though even the admittedly muddy effects of the final fight isn't enough to knock any points off, as its execution and conclusion were still amazing in their own right. the action rules, the--

(6/9) --fit perfectly along with the main plot, and which were all wrapped up cleanly and succinctly by the end of the narrative. wakanda itself almost feels like a character with its colorful, rich, expressive and lived-in feeling, truly embodying a nation with thousands of years of history and--

(4/9) --this movie with a heart full of hope for humanity, which is difficult for any media to instill, yet something BP does effortlessly. michael b jordan's performance as erik killmonger was moving, with every scene and action leading to understanding of why he was this way, and the betrayal--
September 4, 2025 at 8:54 PM
(3/9) --perfectly paced to tell the story this film wanted to convey. a center narrative surrounding confronting the ghosts of your forebears' sins, and choosing to be better because of them; of learning to value life and heroic responsibility in the face of overwhelming odds. i walked away from--
September 4, 2025 at 8:54 PM
(2/9) --by the late and great chadwick boseman, is such a spectacular and well rounded character, there is not a single moment in this film where i wasnt enthralled by his performance. from his first scenes as the black panther all the way to his final showdown with killmonger, every scene was--
