I got the matte PLA to work :D This printed really well with hardly any supports and they snapped off so clean! I might try printing in a slightly different orientation to get a better finish on the topline of the head and nose, but otherwise I am delighted :D #NomadSculpt #BambuLab #3DPrint

Tried a more stylistic dog this evening. I’m still not quite there for making what is in my mind’s eye…but I’m getting there :) And still having fun with it. #NomadSculpt #3DSculpting #3DModelling

And the finished dog :3 Its lovely to just chip away at sculpts, tweaking and improving in increments and then seeing it come together.

This ended up *less* stylised than I actually intended, because I got swept up in details instead of shapes. But I learned a lot for the next sculpt. #NomadSculpt

More #NomadSculpt practice. I made a reference and then kinda departed from it lol #3DModelling #3DSculpting

Had some more practice in Nomad Sculpt :3 I am very much looking forward to trying more complex animals and eventually human-oid shapes. #NomadSculpt #3dSculpt

I updated the lil bat. Hopefully the mouth and fangs will print better on the next pass, plus I gave him some teeny tiny lil eyebrows and a lil grin :) #NomadSculpt #3DSculpt #3DPrint

Lil bat has been printed in nice eSun ‘chameleon’ filament. Black base with a pretty blue-green shimmer.

He is actually printed as two pieces, my first time setting up a model for construction after print :D I’m getting there.

I am looking forward to reaching dizzying heights of sculpting knowledge in Nomad Sculpt. For now, you can see my silly attempts.

This lil guy will be thrown at the 3D printer later :)

Trying to break out of my comfort zone of lined backgrounds and just paint/scribble/use texture. I really like these shrubs. #WIP #illustration

My first time travelling via London at the tail end of summer but the height of a Bank Holiday weekend. Its…quite the experience, lol

My lovely heron friend was at the park again today, looking very poised in the sunshine :) #CityCentreWild

Somehow its always startling to see certain animals in a city centre park. I always thought herons were these rather elusive birds that I had only seen in wild spaces as a child. #CityCentreWild

I shared this in a discord server with some friends and it boggled their mind when I said every book was hand drawn xD Yes, there probably are more efficient things i could have done...but my mind was settled on 'draw all the things' today. #BackgroundDesign #illustration #WIP

Had some fun playing with soft, dreamy textures and some painterly strokes and such. I think I need to go find some specific paintings/photos to do some studies to round out what my brain is trying to do.

But I still really like these :) #EnvironmentArt #illustration

I shouldn't be trying to animate when its so warm, my brain is fuzzy. Anyways, revisited and then totally re-made a dino walk cycle I've been practicing.

I know what I wanted to do, then did something different, but still like the result anyway xD He's got a determined stride. #animation #dinosaur

I feel like I've been working on basic thumbnail characters and backgrounds for ages, needed to check that I can still draw faces xD Always looking to improve, I need to sit down with the Proko timer and practice some stuff. #sketches #characters

This is the finished version of a sketch I posted some time ago. Happy with a lot of things, a bit indecisive about a few others. It sounds weird to say this but I finally feel like I'm getting more comfortable with leaving paint strokes visible, being more messy, etc. #EnvironmentArt

This feels like a nice, resolved scene. A few of my recent pieces have felt a little fuzzy (I might have been too soft in the shadows) so I aimed to keep the shadows deeper and with more defined edges for this one. Happy :) #EnvironmentArt #animation #illustration

The finished scene will have a lot more wow factor, but I still really like this stage too. I think I'm getting better and more confident in setting up a scene. #sketch #illustration #BackgroundArt

Look. These are so soft on paper. Gonna have so much fun using these for drawing on the go.

I feel like I've done a lot of messy, dirty urban environments recently. Becoming a specialist in 'brown' xD #DigitalArt #environment #BackgroundArt

It's #PortfolioDay once more and alas I have no full portfolio to share, as I am busy making new things and falling foul of perfectionism, lol. But for now, I hope you enjoy this sample of environment concepts :)

Looking through some of the short animation exercises from my MA and I am still proud of this. Considering I had *zero* experience of animating anything at the time, I was chuffed to get a nice feeling of weight and force. #animation

I did not go through a traditional route into animation, and I am lacking first hand experience of even the basic exercises. So I am speed-running through them over the next few weeks lol. I'd eventually like to blog about this somewhere. In case its useful. #animation #AnimationFundamentals
