We have to ask what people need and show sympathy and compassion and empathy that is the only way we can learn to trust each other. Go support local churches who volunteer in community projects go to the protest you were being told are only causing harm and destruction we're not that different

There is no point bickering on the internet because no one bickers on the internet with the intention of changing their point of view it only causes more harm and perpetuates the idea that the people we should be fighting are the people who are experiencing the exact same problems as us

At the end of the day filling in a bubble on a piece of paper is not any individual person's fault we need to focus on community and camaraderie we need to break down views of people that have been fed to us perpetuating the narrative that only he keeps us divided

I know there are tons of things we cannot all agree on but we cannot blame our neighbors for any of the harm being caused. Especially when we are both dealing with the same turmoil and difficulties. It's hard for both of us to pay rent and afford groceries and find quality child care.

We can't just say no harm is being caused by people who are protesting. Setting cars on fire isn't a great idea and has the ability to hurt people involved whether you like them or not. Justifying harm caused by the people you agree with is the reason It's so easy to stay polarized in this situation

I think we forget that nuance exists. Whether you agree with the policies on deportation or not I think we can all agree that we have the right to protest. And of course when the protest is being viewed as violent and hurting people there can be justification to prevent a constitutional right.

Blame is being put on people that have no power in the situation. Your Republican neighbor didn't bomb anyone. All of us can agree on the change we want to see we just have to find them and work together to fix it. People only make money and stay in power if they aren't being held accountable.

Of course you are going to follow and believe someone who is acknowledging all of your fears and worries not the people who are saying they're not real. When we start with empathy for every single person involved we can start blaming the people who are actually in control of the situation.

If we start humanizing people then major powers can't tell us that it is liberals faults or It's the Republicans. When we try to make people feel bad for how they feel they won't listen to actual concerns we have and will hard commit to the people who are acknowledging their feelings.

We cannot fundamentally change people's worldview so let's stop trying and telling people their feelings are wrong. That's why it's so easy to be manipulated by politicians who are telling you that everything you are afraid of will be fixed by the people who are making you afraid of things.
