Many will lose savings and homes due to medical debt and their children will not inherit, which creates generational poverty. The emergency room will fill up with uninsured people that have non-life-threatening conditions which will jeopardize those who have life-threatening conditions.

The Republicans are fully responsible for the shutdown because they passed a really harmful bill, and Yale University said tens of thousands of people will die each year due to the cut to $1 trillion cut Medicaid alone. If they hadn’t passed a bad bill we wouldn’t have a shutdown.

Even if the ACA tax credits are extended, because the Republicans cut $1.5 trillion from Medicaid and Medicare, everybody’s insurance rates are increasing anyway as the entire medical industry will need to make up for that loss of funding.

Medicare for All is the right solution for healthcare.

A KFF poll shows ¾ (78%) of adults want the enhanced ACA tax credits.

That is across parties—
92% (D),
82% (I),
59% (GOP), and EVEN
57% of MAGA-GOP.

This literally means that the GOP is blocking something most voters, including their own base, ACTUALLY support.

My understanding of socialism is where "the government owns the means of production." Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Unemployment Insurance don't fall under that definition. They are INSURANCE POLICIES, just like life, auto and home insurance policies. We've had them starting in 1930!

Yale University said 50,000 people will *die* due to cuts to Medicaid, and 19 people will lose their healthcare for every millionaire who gets a tax cut. The Republicans will knowingly let people die to put more money in their pockets! "Family values"? Cuts to Medicare wasn't figured into this.
