For more years than I care to count I've been of the opinion that untraceable political donations and the militarization of police forces were the biggest threats to Democracy in the United States.

I'm old enough to remember when police cars were either blue and white or black and white. So you could spot them easily if you needed assistance. Now they are all black with dark grey lettering like a stealth fighter, saying 'we are hiding and ready to pounce when you least expect us'.

So my wife spent weeks hand-making Christmas cards. All I had to do was get them to the Post Office. I went there and dumped them all into the outgoing mail slot.
The next day she asked me 'So, what style Stamps did you decide to buy?'
'Stamps?' I asked.
