I remember when
Thank you.

The producers of fossil fuels, and many politicians hold on to carbon capture as a 'get out of jail' card.

As you point out, this emperor of solutions is quite naked.

Complimented a stranger on their Tesla, response was, yes great car, but shame to be associated with Musk

Tesla superchargers are better value unfortunately none I can use on my usual routes.

Zapmap - then just do it - easier than you think.
My tip is to search for changing at 150kW or greater as you'll find the hubs with several pumps, more reliable, take credit or debit card (except Tesla) and (obviously) are faster
I tend to use the 1 or 2 pump sites as backup options.

Roughly the same as fossil fuels unless your EV is really efficient. There are many places where electricity costs 30% less than this so people mostly use them for a 20 minute top-up on journeys over 150 miles.
Stop for a wee, stretch your legs and you're off with 100 extra miles of range.

I'm aware I'd have to get the right EV and home charger. I have Octopus energy for my electricity supplier and a smart meter. Just waiting for the tech and opportunity.

Bought my first EV in 2016, thought it might encourage car manufacturers to keep building more of them.
Balancing the grid would be really cool.
Happy to be in the vanguard of the energy transition and help create a better future for my children.

I'd adopt bidirectional charging like a shot. I have an EV parked on the driveway doing nothing most of the time.
How long before it's a practicality?

Who would not want better services, but which: ambulance services, adult or child psychiatry, midwives?

The dilemma is any party that would run on increases in income tax to pay for all of the above stands no chance of being elected.
