That doesn't even take into account all the deaths that will happen later because of Covid, for instance from increased risks of cardiovascular problems like heart attacks and strokes.

Covid will have killed about twice as many people this year (68k through Dec 16) as die in an average year from the flu (36k, range 5k-52k for 2010-2022).

And that's just deaths from acute Covid, meaning just from getting sick with Covid. 2/
