idk if this is a great example but the player model in my favorite game used to be a q-tip with a texture for the face, but now he's a handsome lad with limbs because the dev hired an artist to give the character a Real model

i gotta say, as questionable as some of the content is within the heavy metal magazines, i am Loving all the crazy textures in a solid 65% of all the art they show. all this texture would make an AI sick and i love it. SO much tiny detail and hand-drawn noise. it's beautiful.
