It's not a ceasefire without safety guarantees. Without those, it's only a timeout for Russia to build a more powerful army, as they are lacking good soldiers at the moment. A ceasefire is far from a real peace treaty. Trump plays Putin's game, and the faster the EU and US admit it, the better.
