But it's ridiculous to claim "oh they don't get it" because we criticize the story in an action game. There is no reason why an action game can't have endearing characters, or poignant story moments, or clever writing, and have those things elevate the overall package.

But as someone who is critiquing the WHOLE video game, I cant just close my eyes and pretend that those things don't exist. I can (and do!) weigh things differently depending on genre, what a series has been historically known for, and other outside factors like that
