One of the white "doves" that comes to my garden for food. Rather tame. Probably specially bred and then released for a celebration. They turn into common pigeons. But look how pretty it is. Dumb as anything, but pretty.
A white dove gradually gaining the black and brown feathers of a common UK pigeon. Rather pretty with darker wings and flecks of colour across its predominantly white body.

Random Lake District picture of the day.

I believe that fell is High Rigg. One of the smaller fells, number 209 out of 214 on Wainwright's list.

Looking towards Bassenthwaite Lake.

Bassenthwaite is the only body of water in the Lake District with Lake in the name.

Hills on the left are almost definitely Winlatter. Forestry England farms conifers on the slope.

I think this was taken on Binsey (Wainwright fell 191). One of the northern most fells.

Rocks, grass, heather and view, what more could you want?

Somewhere in the Lake District, Cumbria, UK.

To be fair, two thirds of my pics are the Lake District. You can see why.

The fells are rising up on both sides of the picture, a mix of green grass, orange heather and towards the tops the craggy rocks that give the fells such character. A traditional stone wall runs parallel with the path. In the far distant another fell rises up, and all this under a deep blue sky with pretty white clouds.

Ordered yesterday, arrived today.

As a wise giant once said, "Anybody want a peanut?"

I have 5kg worth, which might last me a month with my hungry, hungry birds and squirrels.

I had 3 coffees at church this morning, which left me oddly energised to do stuff. And today's stuff was to get some pictures up on my wall.

And well, despite a prolonged hunt for the removable hooks, and over thinking on the positioning, uh, TA DA! They are up!

The rest of the evening consisted of walking round two shops selling Harry Potter stuff, mentally cursing J.K. for destroying her own legacy, while hunting for non Harry Potter stuff.

I did find some cool Lord of the Rings stuff, which I managed not to buy because money.
Four goblets depicting different parts of the Lord of the Rings story. The 1st white with Elven motifs and Rivendell written on it. The 2nd has the green door of Bag End. The 3rd has the crown of the King of Gondor on the base, the white tree of Gondor on a black background on the main cup and round it the words (not all seen) saying Lord of the Rings. The 4th shows part of the white city of Minas Tirith surrounded by the green branches of the white tree.

Successful evening out.

Bought myself a new notebook.

Did I need a new notebook? No.

Did I deserve a new notebook? Also no.

Did I buy one anyway? Yes, yes, I did.

Because it's cool and has wolves on it. And it's Christmas.

See, look at the cool wolves.
