Doesn’t electro swirl with anemo?” Sethos was puzzled. “Cyno, you’re from Spantamad, you should know this stuff.” On command, Cyno began to expound with authority, “anemo energy may be perceived as having a higher rate of personification since, by its nature, it accumulates more disparate anthropological data, simulating consciousness in a manner congruent with typical beliefs on our shared reality.” “Is that so…? How intriguing,” Neuvillette hummed, losing himself in deep cogitations. “It’s a popular hypothesis, but studies are inconclusive due to small sample sizes,” Cyno added noncommittally. “Then that doesn’t help at all!” Sethos threw his hands up. “You can imagine how useful my education is within the Matra.” It was hard to tell if Cyno was implying that this was a good or bad thing." /end ID

However, the two are quickly roped into assisting Sethos and Cyno as they try to complete an advanced gliding maneuver to reforge their brotherly bonds. Along the way, the gang discovers the power of friendship... as depicted by TCG novels?! (Work done for Tempest, a free RNG zine speedrun! What does that mean? It means I had little to no time to write this and little to no control over what characters I could use in the fic. The project was a blast, so be sure to check it out!)" There is a break detailing Notes that exist at the end of the work, after which the story begins, reading as follows, "The colossal falls near Romaritime Harbor drowned out even the loudest of voices, making it hard for Kazuha to hear the Crux crew’s bellowing hollers. Even Beidou’s booming call hardly crested over the rolling roar, and it was this exact reason that saw him taking a trip away from the crew. There were few things more annoying than a swarm of pirates screaming ‘ HUH’ , and ‘ WHAT’ at steadily increasing volumes. Many of the Fontainian porters there wore ear-protection as part of their daily attire, on account of the continent-spanning falls. With his own ear muffs on, it wasn't so bad. Kazuha liked the reverberations in his sternum; the way the elevator to the upper harbor sang like a giant wind chime." /end Id

idk why but i really liked this visualization of crystallize, which is ig an underwhelming reaction in genshin itself but VERY cool to use when writing
(also yes it's WILD to expect navia to do anything with geo that isnt EXPLOSIONS but desperate times and all that...)

Below the title is a fanfiction excerpt, reading as follows, "Cyno swung his glider onto his back and dashed off the pier, racing up the hill. Sethos, wordlessly on the same wavelength, picked up his glider likewise, scrambling behind. Both shot from the hill’s zenith like arcs of lightning, flying forward, headlong over the edge of Fontaine’s plateau… and rose above it. Both greeted one another in the air, and finally managed to achieve their dream. freminet disliking kaveh for reasons outside of kaveh's control (aka The Past) is just. man.

Freminet had been excited up until the moment he studied the file on Kaveh more intensely on the ride over to Romaritime Station. The more he read, the more disgusted he was. Kaveh was a debtor. Heavily so. The man was reportedly constantly chasing high end projects and always coming out at a loss (or worse). His public record was riddled with accounts of drunken disorderliness, and a few drug charges. His recent sober spell was atypical for him, Freminet noted. And while his history pointed to a slow trend out of debt, Freminet knew all too well that this man was just one blunder away from ruin. That was how it went for men like him. …at least Kaveh didn't have a wife and son to pawn his problems onto. /end ID

back on my bullshit writing about a guy with a floating rectangle companion (for context, kaveh and mehrak are in fontaine, and you know that law about flying objects being tethered, right? well...)

Kaveh’s guess was lost when the large poodle galloped past them toward a flock of gulls with wild barks, only for its bark to catch in its throat as its owner reigned it in by a leash. The gulls scattered, indigo wings sailing aloft, and the dog, desperate, tried to bite at its collar. The physical impossibility dawned on the dog’s brain, so it gave up its hunt, coming to heel at the harried (but still dapper) gentleman’s side. Even so, wet almond eyes stole shifty glimpses at the gulls circling the sky. Mehrak glared at the twine attached to its handle. “Oh, don’t even…” Kaveh warned, though he already felt the bite of guilt. /end ID
