Yeah thats how I am lol, sadly a lot of Americans (usually like 30+) have an aversion to foreign language stuff.
My guess is that when younger generations grew up with anime & kpop being cool they became more open to it

In the US it's really hard to get someone to listen to music or even watch shows in foreign languages because they can't understand it.... even tho Google and subtitles are right there.
There are some exceptions, like squid games, anime, and like gamgdam style or despacito, but yeah.
