Dolly Parton assured fans this week, “I'm not dying!" Here’s hoping Dolly is with us a long time, because she's a national treasure. My book “LARGE TIME” (available on Amazon) tells about my encounters with her. For more info on my book, go to: beatlefan.com/book-store

I have a quick look at Saturday's game up. I’ll take a deeper dive into the Dawgs’ performance in a Labor Day Junkyard Blawg. (I’ll be out of pocket most of Sunday as the family gathers to remember my brother Jon.) Check out my First Take here:

Let's hope the Dawgs take step one today on making brother Jon's annual prediction come true: undefeated national champions! And as Jon always said, OADAADHSII!

So, I'm watching Ringo's latest video update, which has clips from his current tour ... and suddenly, in a section that puts quotes from reviews of the tour onscreen, I suddenly see our little Beatles magazine! So cool!

12 years ago, my daughter Livvy and I had a wonderful trip to Brooklyn to celebrate the wedding of my dear friend Allan and his lovely bride, Paula. While there, we also got together with another longtime friend, Al Sussman. And we discovered the cheesecake at Junior's! Great fun all around!

35 years ago, I was in the U.K. with John Sosebee and Mark Gunter to see Paul McCartney in concert. We not only saw Macca, we survived a hurricane-force storm , a poltergeist on a Jack the Ripper tour and several pints at the Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Good memories. We miss you, Slick.
